NBC planning 4-month hiatus for Revolution

It’s the biggest new show of the season and has led the fledgling Peacock Network to its best fall in years. But Revolution is about to go dark.
NBC has announced its plans for mid-season, and the sci-fi hit won’t be back on screen until March 25.
Revolution‘s last episode before the holidays is on November 26. That puts it up to the tenth episode, promised by producers to be a big mid-season finale that wraps up the show’s inaugural plot line (i.e. Charlie and crew’s search for her kidnapped brother, Danny).
The new drama Deception will take its place on Mondays starting in January.
Assuming the show’s freshman season does run a full 22 episodes, that could put the finale out of the May sweeps window and into June … unless NBC plans to double up on some weeks (say, a 2-hour finale).
It’s a potentially risky scheduling strategy, as two of NBC’s recent attempts to find a sci-fi hit — FlashForward and The Event — also had big breaks in the middle of their seasons, but returned in the spring to anemic ratings. Neither survived beyond their first season.
