Fringe finale date set for early 2013

Paranormal sci-fi series Fringe will make its final bow in January, FOX has announced.

Fringe will sign off with a 2-hour series finale on Friday, January 18 (starting at 8/7c).

The show is currently airing its shortened, 13-episode fifth season (Fridays, 9/8c).

The final two episodes include the series’ one hundredth installment.

Series star Anna Torv said that she thinks fans will be pleased with the final episode. “In film, you can have sad endings — like, ‘Oh well, it could’ve been’ — but with television you put so much time into these people that when you do finally say goodbye, you should be satisfied,” she said. “Not necessarily happy, but not heartbroken.”
