BBC America’s new clone thriller has been duplicated, picking up a Season Two renewal this week.
The network has renewed Orphan Black for another 10-episode season, to air in 2014. The series is co-produced with SPACE in Canada, where it also airs.
Orphan Black tells the story of Sarah (Tatiana Maslany), a down-on-her-luck London street tough who witnesses the suicide of a woman who looks exactly like her. Sarah temporarily takes over the woman’s bank account, her boyfriend, and her job as a police detective — only to find herself caught up in a web of intrigue that is spiraling out of her control.
Sarah soon discovers that she, and many others from different walks of life who share her face, are clones.
The show is currently mid-way through its first season, airing Saturdays at 9/8c. The Season One finale airs June 1.
