Alan Dale and Tom Wisdom have also been announced for the series, based on the 2010 film Legion

Sydney-born actor Christopher Egan has been cast as the star of Dominion, a pilot Syfy Channel is developing based on the 2010 feature film Legion.

Also just announced as co-stars on the potential television series are actors Alan Dale (LOST, NCIS, Once Upon A Time) and Tom Wisdom (300, Coronation Street).

The series is set 25 years after a catastrophic war between humankind and an army of angels, which has left the Earth devastated. The story follows the character Alex Lannen (Egan), “a rebellious young soldier who discovers he’s the unlikely savior of humanity,” according to Deadline.

Dale will play Rysen, “the general who led the humans to victory against the angels during the Extermination War. Now ruler of Vega (once known as Las Vegas), one of four cities left standing after the war, Rysen finds himself negotiating politics in the heavily militarized city, maintaining calm over its stratified society and keeping a watchful eye on his daughter, Claire.”

Egan’s previous credits include NBC’s Kings, Vanished, and a string of fantasy-themed TV movies.

Dominion will begin filming this month in Cape Town, South Africa. Legion co-writer and director Scott Stewart is back to direct a script from Vaun Wilmott (Sons of Anarchy). Keep it on SciFi Stream for more on the show in the months ahead.
