S.H.I.E.L.D. Opens To 12 Million People
It’s a big debut for ABC’s new sci-fi action series.
ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is off to a great start. The series premiere drew 12.12 million people last night.
Tuesday is, of course, a very competitive night for broadcast television, and as great as the numbers are — it beat FOX’s premiere of Sleepy Hollow by 2 million — S.H.I.E.L.D. actually placed fourth for the night.
CBS dominated the night, as expected, with its triple threat of season premieres. NCIS drew more than 20 million viewers (up against S.H.I.E.L.D. at 8/7c), followed by NCIS: Los Angeles with 16.35 million, and Person of Interest with 12.44 million.
The new sci-fi action series also had serious competition from NBC, where The Voice averaged 14.35 million viewers over two hours (8-10 p.m.).
But Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. did top the night in the important demographic of viewers 18 to 49, tying The Voice with a big 4.7 rating.
Stay tuned to SciFi Stream for more on the show! A new episode airs next Tuesday at 8/7c on ABC. Watch the complete first episode now, or download it to own.
