Sleepy Hollow Gets DVR Ratings Bump
New numbers make it FOX’s biggest fall premiere since 24.
FOX’s big new hit is actually even bigger than we thought.
Last Monday’s series premiere of Sleepy Hollow drew 10.1 million viewers in the “Live + Same Day” ratings report (story). According to FOX that was its biggest series opener for a scripted drama in seven years.
That’s a very important number … but the all-important currency for setting advertising rates is actually the “C3” number reported a few days later. This includes the live broadcast plus all DVR-delayed viewing of the episode (with ads) within the first three days. So networks always look very closely to see how big the 3-day bump is going to be.
Sleepy Hollow‘s bump has just been reported: It’s a huge 43 percent increase in the 18 to 49 demographic, from a 3.5 rating to a 5.0.
In terms of total viewers, then, those 10 million people went up to 13.6 million.
The series premiere of Sleepy Hollow is now FOX”s biggest fall drama opening since 24 started in 2001.
FOX also gets more bragging rights from the report. As Deadline points out, the DVR boost is even bigger than the one enjoyed by NBC’s Revolution (1.4 in the demo), CBS’s Under the Dome (0.9), and FOX’s own The Following (1.1).
Don’t miss another episode of Sleepy Hollow this Monday at 9/8c on FOX! Read more about the episode, titled “Blood Moon,” in SciFi Stream’s show guide.
