Are Aliens Among Us? Syfy Developing Hunters TV Series
Gale Anne Hurd is adapting Whitley Strieber’s best-selling novel “Alien Hunter.”
Syfy Channel may not be airing a whole lot of original scripted series these days, but it’s certainly not gun-shy about putting lots of them into development.
The cable channel is teaming up with Gale Anne Hurd (The Walking Dead) to adapt “Alien Hunter,” a best-selling novel from author Whitley Strieber. The story follows a man who uncovers evidence that aliens are living among us in secret cells.
Titled Hunters, the 90-minute drama from screenwriter Natalie Chaldez (V, Heroes) “follows a Pennsylvania detective-turned-suspect Flynn Carroll who, after his wife mysteriously goes missing, is determined to prove his innocence and find her,” The Hollywood Reporter says. “His search leads to evidence that dangerous alien cells are living among us, and the U.S. government has a secret organization in place to thwart their terrorist efforts.”
Hurd and Chaldez will executive produce for Hurd’s Valhalla Entertainment.
Hurd is also developing World War II drama Horizon for Syfy’s sister network USA (story), as well as Syfy’s Clandestine and a number of non-genre projects.
