Marvel Confirms Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Tie-In With Thor: The Dark World

The S.H.I.E.L.D. team will deal with the fall-out of the film’s events.

It was only a matter of time, but it looks like the ABC drama Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will have its first tie-in with the Marvel cinematic universe later this month.

The November 19 episode of the show will see Agent Coulson and his team . Here is the network’s official synopsis for the episode, titled “The Well”:

COULSON AND HIS TEAM ARE UNDER ATTACK WHEN AN ASGARDIAN RELIC THUNDERS INTO ABC’S “MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.”

“The Well”- In the aftermath of the events chronicled in the feature film THOR: THE DARK WORLD, Coulson and The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. pick up the pieces — one of which threatens to destroy a member of the team.

We’re not calling it a “crossover,” since there’s no indication at this point that any actors from the feature film will turn up in the episode.

Guest stars for the episode include Peter MacNicol as Professor Elliot Randolph, Michael Graziadei as Jakob Nystrom, Erin Way as Petra Larsen, Toby Wilson as Neils, Alex Neustaedter as Maynard, and Sylvia Brindis as Elena.

Monica Owusu-Breen wrote the episode, which is directed by Star Trek: The Next Generation‘s Jonathan Frakes.

It certainly won’t be the last big-screen tie-in for the ABC series. Next up on Marvel’s roster is Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which opens in April — just weeks before Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s first season finale. That film will center on a major internal conflict within the S.H.I.E.L.D. agency, and so it makes sense that its ripples will directly impact Agent Coulson’s little team.

Thor: The Dark World opens in theaters in the U.S. this Friday.
