Gotham Casts Bruce Wayne And Selena Kyle
Touch actor David Mazouz will play the future Batman
FOX’s Batman prequel series Gotham has added two young actors to its cast, filling key roles from the DC universe. The show has already been ordered to series, and will feature a young Detective Jim Gordon (one day to become Batman’s confidant, Commissioner Gordon).
Thirteen-year-old actor David Mazouz (Touch) has been cast as a young Bruce Wayne — the future Batman. Following the tragic murder of his parents, Bruce relies on the guidance and protection of Alfred Pennyworth (series regular Sean Pertwee) and Gordon.
Also cast this week is newcomer Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle, who will one day become the nefarious Catwoman. Selena is also an orphan, described as a skilled street thief who is dangerous when cornered. Bicondova has appeared in Battlefield America and the forthcoming Girlhouse.
Ben McKenzie (Southland) has already been cast as Gordon, an optimistic rookie detective in Gotham City.
Other series regulars include Donal Logue as Detective Harvey Bullock, Zabryna Guevara as Captain Essen, Erin Richards as Barbara Kean, Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot (a.k.a. the Penguin), and Jada Pinkett Smith as gangster boss Fish Mooney.
Gotham has already bypassed the traditional pilot phase, with Bruno Heller (The Mentalist) writing and executive producing and Danny Cannon (Nikita) directing. Keep your browser locked right here at SciFi Stream for full coverage of Gotham in the months ahead!
