Syfy’s Dominion: First Photo and Premiere Date!
The series starts in June alongside Defiance Season Two
Syfy Channel has released the first peek at its brand new original fantasy series Dominion, along with the premiere date.

Dominion will premiere Thursday, June 19 at 9/8c. The new show will be paired with Syfy’s 2013 hit Defiance, which returns the same day (8/7c) with its second season.
Here’s how Syfy describes Dominion:
Based on characters from the hit theatrical film “Legion” (2010), “Dominion” is an epic supernatural drama set in the year 25 A.E. In this transformed post–apocalyptic future an army of lower angels, assembled by the archangel Gabriel, has waged a war of possession against mankind. The archangel Michael, turning against his own kind, has chosen to side with humanity against Gabriel. Rising out of the ashes of the 25 year-long battle are newly fortified cities which protect the human survivors. In Vega (formerly Las Vegas), the largest of these cities, two houses vie for control and the stage is set for political upheaval and a dangerous power shift. Meanwhile, a rebellious young soldier begins a perilous journey as the war between the human race and the fallen angels hell-bent on their domination escalates.
Dominion stars Christopher Egan (Kings), Tom Wisdom (300), Roxanne McKee (Game of Thrones), Alan Dale (LOST), Anthony Stewart Head (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and Luke Allen-Gale (The Borgias).
It’s the network’s first foray into Thursday night with original scripted dramas (at least in recent memory). Syfy usually puts its dramas on Mondays and Tuesdays, in addition to the post-wrestling slot on Fridays at 10 p.m. Last year Defiance aired on Mondays — and also earlier in the year, from April to June.
In the meantime, Syfy is releasing a webisode series to bridge the gap between Defiance‘s first and second seasons. Titled Defiance: The Lost Ones, the five installments will run three to five minutes each. The whole thing is on Syfy.com this Friday, and on Syfy On Demand starting on Monday.
