Production Begins On Atlantis Season Two
The BBC fantasy series returns this fall
The BBC has commenced production on the second season of Atlantis, the hit new fantasy drama that aired its first season last fall.
The show follows the adventures of Jason (Jack Donnelly, Dancing on the Edge), Hercules (Mark Addy, Game of Thrones) and Pythagoras (Robert Emms) as they fight the infamous creatures of Greek mythology in some rather unexpected forms.
Sarah Parish also returns this season as Paisphae, along with Aiysha Hart as Ariadne, and Juliet Stevenson, as The Oracle. New to the cast in Season Two are Vincent Regan (Strike Back) as Dion and Amy Manson (Being Human) as Medea.
Robert Pugh (Game of Thrones) and Peter de Jersey (Broadchurch) are set to guest star in the first episode of the new season.
“It’s wonderful to have everyone back in the studio together as we prepare to take Atlantis to new places in Season Two,” co-creators Johnny Capps and Julian Murphy said. “We have some exciting new additions joining our exceptional cast and some surprises up our sleeve that we can’t wait to unleash on the Atlantis audience later this year.”
Atlantis is filming in Wales, and is expected to premiere on BBC and BBC America in the fall. Stick with SciFi Stream for the latest!
