Sci-Fi This Week: Dominion, Defiance, Falling Skies Triple Premieres!

It’s a big week for science fiction TV as the summer season officially kicks into high gear! We’re excited for three big premieres, including two returning favorites and the start of a new fantasy show.
First up is Syfy Channel’s new Thursday night line-up. Defiance begins its second season with Nolan still searching far and wide for his missing daughter, Irisa. Meanwhile the Earth Republic is in charge back in the town of Defiance, having appointed a new mayor — Niles Pottinger (played by Jim Murray).
Following that is the premiere of Dominion, the post-apocalyptic angel war show based on the 2010 film Legion. Christopher Egan stars as Alex Lannen, a soldier in the human army of New Vega who discovers that he is destined to be the unlikely savior of humanity. Co-stars include familiar faces like Anthony Head (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and Alan Dale (LOST).

“Pilot.” From the ashes of an angelic war, two houses vie for control of the city of Vega and the stage is set for political upheaval and a dangerous power shift. Meanwhile, a rebellious young soldier begins a perilous journey as the war between the human race and the fallen angels hell-bent on their domination escalates.

“By Means Which Have Never Yet Been Tried.” The war with Dyad is all but lost when Rachel’s latest ploy forces a broken Sarah to concede. The Clone Club springs into action, uniting in a reckless gambit to save Sarah. As they fight to gain their freedom, Sarah encounters a new ally and uncovers a terrifying new dimension to the conspiracy.
FALLING SKIESTNT, 10/9c – SEASON PREMIERE!
“Ghost In the Machine.” The Mason Clan and the remaining 2nd Mass suddenly find themselves under brutal attack by a new Espheni war machine – and a new, deadly creation unlike anything previously encountered. Divided like chattel and spread to the winds, The Masons must each forge new relationships and abilities to survive.
