CBS Renews Extant, Under the Dome For 2015
The genre shows will be back next year
CBS is sticking with its science fiction-themed summer line-up. The network announced this week that it has renewed both Extant and Under the Dome for next year.
Extant will return in 2015 with its second season after drawing 8.64 million viewers. Halle Berry stars in the show about an astronaut who returns to Earth after an extended solo mission on an orbital space station, only to learn that she has brought an alien life back with her.
Under the Dome will return for its third season, based on the novel by Stephen King. The network boasts that the show is the highest-rated scripted series of the season, with 11 million viewers. It chronicles the story of a small town that is suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by an enormous transparent dome.
