Extant Season Two Set For July 1
Halle Berry returns in the CBS summer drama
CBS is officially in the science fiction business. Last summer’s freshman drama Extant is back this summer, and this week the network announced the premiere date for Season Two.
Extant returns on Wednesday, July 1, and will air at 10/9c.
The serialized thriller stars Halle Berry as Molly Woods, an astronaut who last season brought an alien life form back to Earth following her 13-month mission to an orbital space station. In Season Two, Molly discovers she has unwittingly put the human race on a path to destruction — and that she and mysterious stranger J.B. Richter (new cast member Jeffrey Dean Morgan) may be the only hope for survival.
Pierce Gagnon (Ethan) and Grace Gummer (Julie) are also returning this year, following a major cast shake-up.
Also on CBS this summer, Under the Dome starts its third season on Thursday, June 25 with a 2-hour premiere (9/8c) before settling into its regular timeslot Thursdays at 10/9c.
