The CW Announces 2015-2016 Broadcast Schedule
Legends of Tomorrow premieres at midseason
Today is the day for The CW’s upfront presentation, and the announcements are — for the most part — what we expected for the network’s 2015-2016 broadcast plans.
New superhero (and super-villain) team-up series DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will open at midseason. That means January is likely, though the network hasn’t yet pinned any premiere dates on its shows for next season.
The show stars Arthur Darvill (Doctor Who) as Rip Hunter, a time traveler from the future who arrives in present-day and assembles a ragtag team of heroes to stop an immortal threat. The roster includes Ray Palmer / the Atom (Brandon Routh), Dr. Martin Stein (Victor Garber), Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) — whose superhero alterego is now confirmed to be White Canary — plus Hawkgirl (Ciarra Renee), Jay Jackson (Franz Drameh, Edge of Tomorrow), Mick Rory / Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell), and Leonard Snart / Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller).
Also at midseason will be the third season premiere of The 100. The sci-fi show set in a post-nuclear world where humans are beginning to resettle the Earth’s surface started out as a mid-season show, but moved to the fall this past season (with a 16 episodes for its second season). The midseason placement suggests a return to a shorter season order — though The CW has not confirmed the number of episodes for Season Three.
The fall schedule will see the return of The Flash (Season Two) on Tuesdays at 8/7c, followed by iZombie at 9/8c (moving from Wednesdays). Arrow opens its fourth season in its Wednesday 8/7c time slot, followed at 9 p.m. by Supernatural — heading into its record-breaking eleventh season.
The Vampire Diaries (Season Seven, now minus leading lady Nina Dobrev) and The Originals (Season Three) will occupy the Thursday night hours. The full fall schedule follows:

8:00-9:00 PM CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND (New Series)
