Sci-Fi This Week: Legends of Tomorrow Premieres Thursday!
Find out what’s airing in science fiction and fantasy
The CW is building the DC television universe with a multi-hero, time-traveling, action-adventure show: DC’s Legends of Tomorrow makes its big premiere this Thursday (8/7c). The CW is officially the place to go for superhero action, with a 1-2-3 punch on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights.
Arthur Darvill (Doctor Who) stars as Rip Hunter, a time traveler from the future who arrives in our time to assemble a team that can help him stop the immortal villain Vandal Savage (Casper Crump). The team includes the ATOM (a.k.a. Ray Palmer, played by Brandon Routh), White Canary (a.k.a. Sara Lance), Captain Cold (Leonard Snart), Heat Wave (Mick Rory), Firestorm (Jefferson Jackson and Martin Stein), Hawkgirl (Kendra Saunders), and Hawkman (Carter Hall).
Also this week: In addition to the mid-season premieres of The Flash and Arrow, we’re excited to have Agent Carter back on our screens as the show starring Hayley Atwell makes its second season debut. This year Peggy Carter is off to California, where her new assignment leads to a sinister threat lurking in post-war Hollywood.
At the end of the week The X-Files makes its much-hyped return to FOX, with the first of a 6-episode event series airing after the NFC Championship game. (The second episode airs next Monday.) And, as if all that wasn’t enough fun for the week, The CW’s smart and compelling sci-fi drama The 100 kicks off its third season on Thursday.
