When Earth is surrounded by Lupari ships the Doctor and Yaz try to rescue a human, Dan Lewis, who has been kidnapped off the planet – while the Doctor also experiences disturbing visions of an impending threat that defies all laws of time and space.
In the nineteenth century the Doctor finds the British army at war with the Sontarans, and attempts to discover why they are out of time. Meanwhile, Yaz and Dan are pulled away to different places and times to face challenges of their own.
Under threat from a new enemy, the Doctor and her companions find themselves moving in a storm through a broken time stream – taking temporary refuge in their own lives.
After an attack on the TARDIS the Doctor and her companions arrive in a small English village in 1967, where a mysterious woman who was sent back in time has been experiencing visions of the Weeping Angels and their seemingly inevitable takeover of the town.
Captured by the Weeping Angels, the Doctor finds herself at the mercy of Division – who reveal who they are and why they exist. Meanwhile Yaz and Dan receive a new task at the turn of the twentieth century, and in the 1950s a stranger arrives to infiltrate the halls of English power.
With the Ravagers threatening to watch the universe be destroyed over and over again, the Doctor must assemble her friends – and three iterations of herself spread through time and space – to try and stop the final Flux event, the Grand Serpent, and a Sontaran gambit to seize power.
