Angel, a vampire tormented by a soul and a conscience, moves from Sunnydale to Los Angeles, where a demon with the ability to see the future convinces him to set up a private detective agency to help others.

Angel tracks a serial killer that is trolling an L.A. singles bar.

Angel receives a powerful ring that renders vampires immune to sunlight, staking, and other threats. But the vampire Spike also arrives in search of the ring, handing Angel over to a vampire torturer.

Angel comes to the aid of a young woman who is being stalked by a doctor who can detach his body parts.

Doyle helps Cordelia find a new apartment, where she finds that the ghost of an old woman is haunting the place and wants her dead.
