Inside the mysterious greenspace, Khlyen prompts a wounded Dutch to remember the story of when she and Johnny first came to the Quad -- taking on a dangerous mission to stop an assassin inside a Qreshi retreat center.
After crash-landing D'avin and Delle Seyah must use Hullen plasma to save Johnny's life -- with serious consequences. Elsewhere Zeph and Pip escape the enemy-occupied R.A.C., and must recruit a reluctant former Scarback to infiltrate the Necropolis.
A slightly crazy Johnny takes D'avin on a Jacobi brothers road trip to find a green plasma pool on the prison planet. Meanwhile Delle Seyah tangles with the planet's warden, and Zephyr revives a Hullen to try and find a lead on Lucy.
Dutch awakens to find Johnny succumbing to his Hullen transformation and Delle Seyah in labor, unable to deliver D'av's child because of her rapid healing abilities.
D'av's newborn child experiences rapid growth on the ship, bring the team to the outer space pleasure club Utopia for help. Meanwhile Gared and Fancy attempt to intervene when Westerly is plagued by a rash of child kidnappers.
Young "Oswald" begins combat training with Dutch, and an assassin comes calling after the team traces a mystery woman from Khlyen's story. While Pree goes looking for Gared, Zeph tries to save Pip by removing the spider from his brain.
Dutch and Johnny follow Khlyen's clues to a hidden planet, where Dutch discovers the identity of the woman from Khlyen's story. Pree and Gared are reunited, and must escape from the enemy's stronghold.
D'avin brings his son home to the planet Tella, where they are forced to weather a sandstorm with his father -- until the Black Root shows up. Meanwhile, Dutch risks her life after learning that the Lady has found a way out of the green space.
Dutch and the boys join the other Killjoys on a mission to infiltrate the R.A.C. cruiser and rescue the children abducted by the Hullen -- but must turn to a hippie cult to find a way inside. As Jack goes into hiding, Zeph worries about Pip's future with the team.
Dutch's gambit leaves Aneela in control of her body, leading D'av and Johnny into the Green for a frightful confrontation with the Lady -- who will use the best and the worst of who they are against them.
