After she is confronted with a memento of her past Dutch realizes that all of Westerley is suffering from a collective delusion, with Johnny as her husband and D'avin a Killjoy hunting for young Jaq -- and only one crazy person out there who can help her.
When the Lady puts out a black warrant for Dutch's capture, John turns to D'avin for help in finding her first. Dutch must save Zeph's life, and makes a disturbing discovery about Westerley's future.
After Dutch and the boys are reunited in their escape from the Lady's clutches, they face a new set of crises on the way to Old Town -- and Dutch grows suspicious of one of her companions.
The Lady sends the Killjoys to a supermax prison in an attempt to lure Jaq out of hiding. While Johnny attempts to engineer an impossible escape attempt, in Old Town Zeph must restart the resistance from scratch.
When the Qreshi bring their deadly fight competition to the supermax prison, Dutch sees it as an opportunity to escape. Khlyen brings the Lady to Old Town in search of a security breach.
When the Killjoys' efforts to commandeer the prison ship are complicated by a madman, Dutch must pose as the warden to win the help of a Qreshi kill squad ship. Khlyen presses Gared to help him in order to save Pree's life.
With help from a fellow inmate the team goes undercover on a Leithian military base in order to locate the Lady's real body. Pree and Zeph make a discovery in the wastelands of Westerley.
To find the secret to destroying the Lady, Zeph takes Dutch to her childhood home inside an agrarian cult on Leith. Khlyen considers his alliance with the enemy, and D'avin and John participate in a war games scenario to try and train the prisoners for the conflict to come.
Dutch and Aneela are reunited as the resistance rallies an attack on the factory in order to undermine the Lady's terraforming of Westerley. D'avin receives an indecent proposal from the Qreshi, and Gared gets an undercover mission.
Dutch uses Khlyen to deliver an ultimatum to the Lady, who plans to take Jaq's body for herself. Delle Seyah and Aneela go to Qresh, and the Killjoys launch a final assault on the enemy armada to find the Lady's true body.
