After waking up in the jungle and having a vision, Locke sets out to rescue Mr. Eko from a menacing captor. Hurley returns to the beach camp to report on the fate of Jack, Kate, and Sawyer.
Eko is driven into the jungle by a vision of his brother, who tells him he must seek forgiveness. Locke leads a group to the Pearl station in the hopes of using the surveillance system to find Jack, Kate, and Sawyer.
Pickett's threat on Sawyer's life brings Kate and Sawyer together, and prompts her to remember a man from her past. Jack makes a decision about Ben's offer.
Jack uses Ben's life on the operating table to try and free Kate and Sawyer, but Juliet has an agenda of her own. When Kate and Sawyer manage to escape, they must find help from one of the Others in order to make it back to their island.

Claire comes up with a plan to get everyone rescued, but is surprised when Charlie doesn't support her and Desmond tries to thwart her efforts. Sayid, Locke, and Kate march their prisoner across the island in the hopes of finding the Others' home and rescuing Jack.
As Kate and Sayid attempt to rescue Jack from the Others, Locke pays a visit to Ben in the hopes of finding their submarine. But the seemingly helpless Ben has an agenda of his own.
When Nikki stumbles out of the jungle and dies mysteriously, Hurley and Sawyer head an investigation into her demise -- leading them to Paulo's body as well.
When the Others decide to leave their neighborhood, Kate is left unconscious in the jungle to fend for herself -- handcuffed to Juliet, who has also been abandoned. Sawyers tries to improve his image when Hurley warns him that the beach camp is about to vote him out.
Jack is reunited with the survivors on the beach, who are shocked to see that he has brought one of the Others back with him. Juliet tries to make new friends by saving Claire's life when she falls deathly ill.
After seeing a flash of Charlie dying in the jungle, Desmond risks his new friend's life by leading him, Jin, and Hurley on a mission to find a visitor he believes is on her way. Kate faces her conflicted feelings when she sees Jack and Juliet together.
