The colony finds itself under threat from a massive flock of small but highly aggressive, flying dinosaurs. After Elisabeth learns that an old college friend is in Terra Nova, Jim begins to suspect that the man is responsible for recruiting her -- hoping for a new chance at romance.
After Terra Nova loses contact with a scientific research outpost, Commander Taylor and Elizabeth investigate and find the scientists suffering from a virus that causes severe memory loss and dissociative disorder. Josh's blossoming relationship with Skye hits a roadblock.
After a young girl from the Sixers' camp makes her way to Terra Nova, Mira and her people come looking for her. Taylor hopes to use the opportunity to learn the identity of the Sixers' mole.
Jim suspects that the death of a soldier by dinosaur attack is actually the colony's first murder. Scientists try and help a rare Ankylosaurus egg hatch safely, and Skye agrees to help Josh with a dangerous plan to bring his girlfriend to Terra Nova from the future.
Terra Nova is crippled by the nearby impact of a meteor, which takes out their electronics and compromises the perimeter fence. While Elisabeth and Skye perform an emergency surgery to save a boy's life, Jim and Zoe are trapped in an underground room, and Maddy and Reynolds must hike through the dangerous wilderness back to the settlement.
Maddy is invited to intern with a renowned scientist after he returns from a long period outside the gates, but grows suspicious of his loss of memory. Josh is asked to steal for the Sixers, and Taylor goes after Curran after finding signs of him in the wilderness.
While Commander Taylor interrogates a new prisoner with a connection to the Sixers, Jim discovers evidence of a murder for which Taylor himself may be responsible. Meanwhile, the Sixers ambush a convoy en route to a remote outpost.
Taylor is captured by Mira after heading into the jungle alone, where the two must fend off a pair of deadly predators. Inside the colony, Jim finds blood evidence that may lead him to the Sixer spy, and Zoe has to give up her new Ankylosaurus pet.
After preparing Terra Nova for a possible invasion from the future, Jim Shannon awakens to find the city occupied by a military force bent on strip-mining the planet. Jim attempts to make contact with Taylor outside the gate, and Lucas sets his sights on Skye.
After Jim is imprisoned and interrogated by Lucas, the Shannons plan to break him out and flee the colony. Skye turns the tables on Lucas, and Commander Taylor finds a plan to cut off the enemy's reinforcements for good.
