Marvel Announces Daredevil Season Three
The comic book hit will be back for another round on Netflix
It’s official: We’re all going back to Hell’s Kitchen.
Marvel announced today that Daredevil has been renewed for a third season on Netflix.
The show has been a creative and critical hit for the streaming service, anchoring a New York-based Marvel universe that also includes Jessica Jones (renewed for Season Two), Luke Cage (premiering September 30), Iron Fist (now in production), The Punisher (in pre-production), and the team-up mini-series The Defenders (coming in 2017).
Season Two of Daredevil debuted in March, introducing Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) and Elektra Natchios (Elodie Yung). It’s too early to know the shape of Season Three, but it’s likely that Bernthal won’t have much of a presence (if any) now that he has moved on to his own series.
Marvel and Netflix also didn’t say anything about when the new season would launch. But it seems likely that it will have to wait for The Defenders next year. Stay tuned for more!
